Job summary

Smart Solutions (Recruitment) Limited is looking for a reliable Site Operative to join a busy Transfer Station/Recycling Centre. You will direct the public to correct disposal areas and help manage traffic and site safety, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

Full training will be provided. Health and safety is central; you will follow procedures, report hazards and keep areas clean, while delivering a friendly, professional service to the community.

Qualifications

• Experience at a Transfer Station or Recycling Centre is helpful but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and flexible attitude.
• Ability to follow site procedures, report hazards and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct and advise the public to the correct areas for disposal of recyclables.
• Direct traffic vehicles safely into parking and tipping areas.
• Minimize contamination of recyclable materials.
• Maintain clean and safe working areas, walkways and roadways.
• Follow site procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Report safety concerns, hazards or incidents promptly.
• Inform the Team Leader or Site Manager of operational issues.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and the public.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Provide a helpful, professional and reliable service to the community.

We are looking for a reliable, proactive and hardworking Site Operative to join our team at a busy Transfer Station/Recycling Centre.

Previous experience working at a Transfer Station, Recycling Centre or similar environment is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided. We are looking for someone with a flexible attitude, a willingness to learn and a strong commitment to providing a safe, clean and reliable service to members of the public.

Health and safety is central to everything we do, so you must be comfortable following site procedures, identifying and reporting hazards, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• . Direct and advise members of the public to the correct areas to dispose of recyclable materials.
• . Traffic marshal vehicles safely into parking and tipping areas when required.
• . Help ensure minimal contamination of recyclable materials.
• . Maintain clean and tidy working areas, walkways and roadways.
• . Carry out general housekeeping duties around the site.
• . Follow all site operating procedures and health and safety requirements.
• . Report any safety concerns, hazards or incidents promptly.
• . Inform the Team Leader or Site Manager of any operational issues.
• . Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and members of the public.
• . Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• . Provide a helpful, professional and reliable service to the community.
