Job summary

Buckinghamshire College Group is seeking a highly capable Faculty Director - English and Maths to lead and improve English and Maths provision across Aylesbury, Amersham and Wycombe. This 37-hour-per-week leadership role reports to the Vice Principal - Curriculum & Quality and aims to raise GCSE/Functional Skills outcomes.

You will shape a future-ready curriculum, embed essential skills across the curriculum, and drive innovation, qualification reform and AI-enabled learning across the College.

Buckinghamshire College Group is seeking an exceptional Faculty Director - English and Maths to lead ambitious, inclusive English and Maths provision across Aylesbury, Amersham and Wycombe, with genuine College-wide influence. As a member of the College Leadership Team, you will drive improvement in GCSE and Functional Skills delivery, embed essential skills across the curriculum, and lead a high-performing faculty through innovation, qualification reform and AI-enabled learning. This is a full-time leadership role (37 hours per week) working across our campuses and reporting directly to the Vice Principal - Curriculum & Quality.

What you'll do:
  • Lead English and maths provision for young people, adults and apprentices.
  • Drive excellence in teaching, attendance, achievement and progression.
  • Embed essential skills within vocational learning and career readiness.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable and high-performing culture.
  • Use data and evidence-informed practices to deliver measurable improvement.
  • Ensure effective deployment of people and resources.
