Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is seeking a Personal Assistant to support an individual with bathing, toileting and meal preparation, and to provide gentle limb stretches where appropriate.

Training is provided, and supervision by a physiotherapist will be available. DBS check will be required on acceptance of offer. The role may involve using tilt tables, hoists and a wheelchair accessible vehicle to support independence.

Job description

The employer requires personal assistance with bathing, toileting and meal preparation. When appropriate, some gentle stretches to the limbs are given to alleviate pain and stiffness. We also have a tilt table which is easy to use, and training is given initially under the supervision of a physiotherapist. We have tracking hoists and a lift on the premises. We have a wheelchair accessible vehicle, a driver would be preferred but not essential. Training can be given if the PA has no previous experience.

This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable the individual to manage their support independently. Training can be provided as required and where available.

A Disclosure Barring Service Check (DBS) / criminal record check will require to be undertaken for this post. This will be completed on acceptance of job offer
