Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Officer to source and arrange care and support for individuals with diverse needs. You will work within the Partnerships and Commissioning Service, collaborating with social workers, individuals and families to broker suitable care placements.

This role focuses on reablement pathways, supports integration of direct payments, and includes weekly duty cover.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in health or social care.
• Experience of commissioning in social care or similar service.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders.
• Highly organised with excellent time management and workload balance.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and arranging care and support for individuals by brokering suitable care packages and placements.
• Support the integration of direct payments into the Personalised Commissioning team and help develop related processes.
• Provide duty cover at least once a week and manage incoming contacts and queries.
