Job summary

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust invites applications for an experienced health care worker to cover maternity leave of the Macmillan Rare Tumour support worker. The post holder will assist the Macmillan Rare Tumour Nurse Specialist with holistic assessments from diagnosis through the cancer pathway.

You will be the first point of contact for patients and carers, signposting services, arranging appointments, and providing general information and emotional support.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths required.
• Vocational Qualification Level 4 preferred.
• Foundations in Cancer Care or equivalent desirable.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to holistic needs assessment and care planning under nurse direction.
• Triage calls and signpost to Macmillan teams and other resources.
• Coordinate appointments and support the patient pathway across organisations.
