Main duties of the job

This post involves leading the physiotherapists within the rapid response teams and providing senior physiotherapy assessment and treatment of complex patients within A&E, short stay unit, and patients referred from the community in order to prevent admission to hospital and promote early discharge.

In doing this you will work as part of a strong multidisciplinary team, within an interdisciplinary working model, to facilitate hospital discharge and prevent acute admission.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience as a physiotherapist in an Acute Therapy or Rapid Response setting. You should have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.

You will be encouraged to develop your clinical, teaching, and management skills through opportunities within the team and in the wider organisation. You will have support from the IIT Urgent Care Lead and experienced staff across the team. Peer supervision and in-service training are carried out regularly, and you will have an annual appraisal. There is excellent support for personal development and opportunities to develop the service in line with best practice.
