Job summary

Home Support Matters is seeking a compassionate Rapid Responder to cover Dereham and surrounding areas, delivering overnight support across Norfolk. You'll be on call from home, deployed by the Emergency Duty Team to help vulnerable people stay safe and independent in their own homes.

Shift times are 21:00–07:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, with weekday night work and cover options. You’ll travel to clients’ homes, stay awake all night, observe and reassure, and complete accurate visit records

Qualifications

• Experience in the care sector.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Positive attitude and strong customer focus.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Commitment to safeguarding and delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency referrals from the Emergency Duty Team.
• Travel to individuals' homes for overnight support.
• Remain awake throughout the night to observe, monitor, and reassure.
• Provide a responsive, person-centred service tailored to individual needs.
• Complete accurate visit records using our thermal printer system.
• Report concerns, risks, or safeguarding issues to appropriate teams.
• Help people stay safe, comfortable, and independent at home.

Make a Difference When It Matters Most

Home Support Matters is looking for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Rapid Responder to join our dedicated team covering Dereham and surrounding areas. This rewarding role helps vulnerable people remain safe and independent in their own homes, reducing the need for hospital or care home admissions.

As a Rapid Responder, you'll be on call from home and deployed by Norfolk's Emergency Duty Team (EDT) to provide overnight support to individuals in need across Norfolk.

What You'll Be Doing

• Responding to emergency referrals received through the Emergency Duty Team.
• Travelling to individuals’ homes to provide overnight support.
• Remaining awake throughout the night to observe, monitor, and offer reassurance.
• Providing a responsive, person-centred service tailored to individual needs.
• Completing accurate visit records using our thermal printer system.
• Reporting any concerns, risks, or safeguarding issues to the appropriate teams and organisations.
• Helping people stay safe, comfortable, and independent within their own homes.
