Job summary

Northumberland National Park Authority is seeking a proactive Ranger – Northern Area to join our Park Management team in Rothbury. You will help care for our landscape, support conservation and access, and ensure visitors can enjoy the National Park responsibly.

Responsibilities include welcoming visitors, maintaining rights of way, supporting biodiversity projects, and running activities with schools and communities. Occasional weekends and Bank Holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in countryside management or a ranger-related role.
• Good understanding of conservation and rural land management.
• Knowledge of countryside recreation and public rights of way.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming visitors and providing information and guidance.
• Monitoring and maintaining public rights of way, access routes and facilities.
• Supporting conservation and sustainable land management projects.
• Delivering activities and guided walks with schools and communities.
• Building relationships with local communities, landowners and partners.
• Carrying out countryside maintenance such as gates, stiles, signage and waymarking.
