Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking a Ranger to care for and manage our parks and green spaces across Essex. You will undertake practical conservation and habitat work, support daily site operations and engage with visitors and volunteers.

The role requires driving ability and a commitment to safety and accessibility. You will work across country parks and woodlands with opportunities for professional development and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in countryside management or equivalent by experience in country park management.
• Industry qualifications (First Aid, Tractor Operations, Chain Saw, Brush Cutter, etc.).
• Evidence of continuing professional development in relevant area.

Responsibilities

• Carry out conservation, habitat and land management work.
• Support day-to-day running of sites; engage with visitors, volunteers and communities.
• Carry out site and health and safety checks; build relationships with visitors and partners.
