Job summary

National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty is seeking a Ranger to protect habitats and landscapes while engaging visitors with the estate’s natural and cultural heritage. The role involves outdoor work,_safe operations, and collaboration with a team of Rangers, a Farm Manager, and volunteers at Shugborough Estate.

You’ll contribute to habitat management, conservation grazing, and visitor experiences, reporting to the Lead Ranger.

Qualifications

• Practical conservation experience to protect and improve habitats and landscapes.
• Able to communicate with diverse audiences about the work and its importance.
• Willing to learn, hard-working and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Manage habitat and estate maintenance across the Shugborough Estate.
• Oversee infrastructure care and site safety to protect wildlife and visitors.
• Engage visitors and communities, promoting positive experiences and understanding of conservation.
• Lead volunteers and work with the Duty Manager on operational decisions and incident response.
