Job summary

The White Horse Federation seeks an ambitious Lead Practitioner to raise standards in English, Mathematics or Science at Melksham Oak Community School. You will drive curriculum implementation, assessment practice and targeted catch‑up provision to secure improved attainment.

Working with SLT and Curriculum Leader, you will use data to identify pupils at risk, lead evidence‑informed strategies and deliver high‑impact interventions including small‑group and one‑to‑one tuition, exam preparation

Qualifications

• Experience in leading school operations or professional services leadership.
• Strong knowledge of compliance, health & safety, facilities, finance or administrative functions.
• Excellent organisational, planning and project management skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships and work with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution-focused approach and confidence to lead change and drive improvement.
• Commitment to a culture of high expectations, inclusion and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum implementation and ensure effective assessment practices.
• Use data to identify pupils at risk of underachievement and implement targeted strategies.
• Deliver high‑impact intervention including small‑group, 1:1 tuition, exam preparation and before/after‑school provision.
• Model strong classroom practice and support colleagues through collaboration and professional learning.
• Contribute to the school's ambition for sustained improvement in attainment, progress and achievement.
