Carlisle Support Services is hiring a Railway Safety and Security Officer to protect passengers, staff and stations on a prestigious UK rail contract. No prior railway experience required; full training and support provided to help you succeed.

You will join a team delivering proactive security, handling access control, patrolling, and engaging with the public. We value reliability, flexibility and a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence required.
• 5 years' checkable work and address history.
• Reliable, punctual, flexible and smart in appearance.
• Friendly, approachable and professional.
• Enthusiastic and motivated to do a great job.
• Preferably some security or customer-facing experience.
• Full UK driving licence with no points.
• Willing to develop within a growing multi-skilled team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure colleague and passenger safety, providing reassurance to everyone around you.
• Provide a smart, visible, proactive security presence and deterrent.
• Manage conflict effectively, staying calm and in control of incidents.
• Control access and egress, and conduct security patrols to deter crime.
• Engage proactively and professionally with members of the public.
• Stay alert to hazards and incidents, and respond appropriately.
• Act as a first point of contact – provide guidance, information and directions to customers.
• Follow safety and security processes and procedures.
• Work as part of a team, building strong working relationships.
