Job summary

AECOM is offering a Graduate Development Programme in Rail across the UK, aimed at graduates eager to contribute to major transportation projects. You will join multidisciplinary teams, gain exposure to the project lifecycle, and develop skills through structured training, mentoring, and live client work.

You'll work in a hybrid model from UK offices or sites, with opportunities to pursue Chartership and professional accreditation as you progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a 2:1 (or equivalent).
• Masters qualification would be advantageous.
• Interest in infrastructure project delivery and rail transportation.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project delivery principles.
• Enthusiastic, hard‑working and motivated to develop a career in project management.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to structure and prioritise work effectively while managing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Be enrolled on GDP and develop skills in a collaborative environment.
• Gain experience across the project lifecycle within rail teams.
• Support planning, delivery and monitoring of railway infrastructure projects.
• Assist with programme management, cost control and risk activities.
• Support stakeholder engagement and client communications.
• Contribute to project reporting, governance and performance tracking.
• Develop project plans, schedules and resource forecasts.
