Job summary

Longleat Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated Railway Team Member to help operate the Longleat Railway safely and deliver an exceptional guest experience. The role covers all aspects of railway operations, from pre-opening safety checks to driving the locomotive and performing routine maintenance.

You will report to the Assistant Operations Manager - Attractions and work a 32-hour week on a seven-day rota, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Must pass an Occupational Health Examination to ensure they meet ORR Standards for Train Drivers and Signalman.
• Experience with diesel and/or steam locomotive engines is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure railway rules and safety regulations are always followed.
• Provide guest-focused service and maintain high standards of the Longleat brand.
• Perform daily pre-opening safety inspections and report any equipment needing repair or adjustment.
• Drive the diesel locomotive and oversee train safety for passengers.
• Take part in daily, weekly, monthly and yearly inspection and maintenance tasks.
