Job summary

Ford & Stanley Talent Services Group Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Fitter in Tonbridge, Kent for a seasonal rail maintenance role.

You will work on RHTT units, high-pressure water jetting systems, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components, with 10-hour shifts (days, afternoons, and nights) averaging 40–50 hours per week.

Contract runs to December 2026, £33 per hour inside IR35; umbrella rate applies; safety compliance and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in Rail, Plant, HGV, Automotive or similar engineering.
• Strong mechanical fitment skills and tool proficiency.
• Willing to work rotating shifts during peak season.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance on RHTT units.
• Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct pre-season preparation and post-season decommissioning.
• Work with operations teams to ensure timely deployment and reliability.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs.
• Adhere to safety standards and rail industry regulations.
