Job summary

CAF Rail UK in Manchester seeks an engineer to diagnose faults on an advanced fleet. You will use electrical schematics, diagnostic software and test equipment in a depot setting to ensure passenger services remain available.

You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in electrical/mechanical engineering (or equivalent) and have 3 years post-apprenticeship experience, with the ability to interpret diagrams across electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plus a valid driver’s license and flexible shifts

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in electrical/ mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
• 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience in fault detection and root cause analysis.
• Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics; proficient with diagnostic software and test equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Flexible approach to shifts including weekends, day and night.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform root cause analysis on an advanced fleet across electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform corrective actions and repairs on trains in a depot to ensure passenger service availability and reliability.
