Rail Vehicle Production Team Leader

Job summary

Loram UK is seeking a supervisor for the New Build & Project team to support production of new rail vehicles and the maintenance and overhaul of rolling stock. You will report to the Production Manager and ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are met across the department.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), at least 5 years in a rolling stock environment, and experience supervising teams.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in relevant subject.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Traction & Rolling Stock engineering environment.
• Minimum 1 year’s experience supervising or managing teams.
• Recognised Train the Trainer/Assessor Qualification (holds or is willing to work towards).

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily briefings and update visual management boards.
• Plan and issue daily tasks to team members to meet production targets.
• Ensure compliance with contractual specifications and quality systems.
• Supervise shift productivity and ensure environmental and safety standards are met.
• Interpret drawings and technical specifications for the team.
• Provide first-line leadership and shift support as required.
