Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Rail Track Assistant based on site at Cadder Yard, Glasgow, to support track renewal and maintenance works and keep the rail network running safely and reliably.

You will work with an experienced team, follow safe systems of work, and contribute to day‑to‑day site activities, with shifts including days, nights, weekends and rostered patterns. Previous rail experience is helpful but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to take instruction and work effectively in an operational environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training.
• Ability to drive or have willingness to learn driving.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of track renewal and maintenance work on site.
• Follow instructions from Supervisors and Senior Track Assistants.
• Use tools and small plant equipment safely and correctly.
• Carry out general site duties to support rail operations.
• Work in line with railway rules, regulations, and health & safety requirements.
