Job summary

Ferrovial Construction / BAM Nuttall JV seeks a Temporary Works Design Manager to lead the design of temporary works for the HS2 track infrastructure project in the UK. You will ensure compliance with HS2 standards, coordinate with civil and railway systems contractors, and drive delivery of critical temporary works schemes.

Based in the London area during initial design, you will oversee TW design, manage interfaces, and ensure safety, training, and procurement processes are aligned with CDM

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in design and/or engineering management, temporary works, instrumentation and monitoring.
• Proven track record of delivery on large infrastructure projects, preferably rail.
• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer preferred.
• Experience in railway environments is desirable.
• Proven experience managing temporary works large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of railway standards and Works Information.
• Ability to manage complex interfaces and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in managing designers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure temporary works are designed and constructed to correct standards and drawings.
• Serve as primary contact between designer and site team for all temporary works matters.
• Ensure training and competency for on-site temporary works management.
• Oversee subcontractor procedures for temporary works.
• Coordinate TW design with site teams, permanent works designers, and external stakeholders.
• Maintain training records and project documentation for TW appointments.
• Coordinate interfaces between civil, signalling, and other railway systems.
• Develop and maintain detailed TW delivery programs.
• Ensure CDM compliance and safety integration in design and execution.
• Oversee procurement and logistics for TW designs and O&M manuals.
