Job summary

Hitachi Rail UK Limited is seeking a senior engineering leader to manage the Shift Support Engineers at the Train Management Centre (TMC) and to drive reliability improvements across the fleet. You will act as an engineering lead, coordinate with peers, and represent Hitachi in customer meetings.

The role requires significant experience in rolling stock and strong leadership, with responsibility for safety, performance data and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• HND/HNC, degree or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Rolling stock or complex asset engineering experience desirable.
• Experience leading technical teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Shift Support Engineers at the TMC.
• Coordinate with Lead Support Engineers at other TMCs to balance shift engineering resource requirements.
• Represent Hitachi at Periodic Customer Meetings.
• Act as an Engineering lead for TMC related activities and support.
• Lead investigations into fleet performance, reliability and safety issues.
