Job summary

Amey, a UK infrastructure consultancy, is recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer (Rail) to join our London-based Systems Engineering team with hybrid working. You will lead the delivery of whole‑system engineering across rail infrastructure, rolling stock and operations, coordinating with Network Rail and major clients to improve reliability and passenger experience.

You will apply rigorous systems engineering processes, manage requirements and V&V, produce and review SE plans, and mentor junior

Qualifications

• Experience applying systems engineering processes in complex environments.
• Proven ability to deliver requirements management and V&V on large multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Rail sector or infrastructure systems experience desirable.
• Experience interfacing across infrastructure, rolling stock, operations and maintenance.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and safety standards.
• Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (or working towards).
• Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver whole-system engineering across infrastructure, rolling stock, operations and maintenance.
• Manage requirements management and V&V activities, including traceability and change control.
• Develop and review SE documents (SEMP, SIP, RAM/SRAM) and technical reports.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers and provide client‑facing support.
• Ensure integration of infrastructure changes with operations and maintenance.
