Job summary

Fusion People is seeking an experienced Survey Engineer to deliver specialist railway surveys across a portfolio of rail projects. You will lead planning, execution and QA of survey outputs while working with design and maintenance teams.

The role offers hybrid working with site visits, and involves BPSS/PTS/DC requirements for secure access. 12-month contract with travel to hubs across the UK.

Qualifications

• Railway surveying experience is required.
• Experience leading track and rail surveys.
• Knowledge of modern topographical survey techniques.
• Experience establishing GNSS control networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead topographical and rail surveys.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks.
• Manage GNSS control and SnakeGrid transformations.
• Process point cloud data and deliver survey outputs.
• Provide technical survey input to multidisciplinary project teams.
• Review survey specifications and ensure outputs meet requirements.
• Contribute to survey governance and best practice.
• Coordinate with third-party survey providers and resolve issues.
