Job summary

Amey is seeking a Civil Engineer for our Structures Assessments (CAFA) team across York, Liverpool, Cardiff or Crawley. The role is 37.5 hours with hybrid work, requiring in-office presence at least 3 days a week, and involves inspecting rail structures and producing technical drawings, reports and calculations.

You will mentor junior staff, contribute to design schemes, and liaise with clients while adhering to all health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in railway structure inspection, assessment and design schemes.
• Experience in the assessment/design of all major construction materials, including historical materials.
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and sustainability legislation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check technical assessment/remits, calculations, reports and drawings.
• Undertake site inspections and provide on-site technical leadership as needed.
• Support project cost estimates so commissions are delivered within budget and to client requirements.
