Job summary

Balfour Beatty Rail is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support commercial and contractual control on rail projects. You will help manage contract cost reporting, forecast costs to completion and assist in ensuring timely variation orders and payments with subcontractors.

Ideal candidates will have Quantity Surveying experience within rail or construction, CSCS card, and knowledge of tendering, procurement, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Quantity Surveying, in Rail, Civil Engineering or Construction
• CSCS card is required
• Knowledge of tendering and procurement processes
• Proficiency in administration, writing, numeracy, IT and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Assist in commercial control and profitability strategies for projects
• Maintain contract cost reporting and track budget/tender allowances
• Provide accurate forecasts of cost to completion and final value
• Monitor cash flow and valuation plans and ensure timely applications for variations and payments
• Manage subcontract tendering and subcontractor accounts
• Support project reviews and monthly cost/value reporting
• Utilise BIM to support progress monitoring and change management
