Job summary

New Step Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Commercial Manager for their London office or a client site on rail projects. The role requires experience in quantity surveying and commercial management, with NEC contracts knowledge and rail/infrastructure exposure.

The candidate should hold a BSc in Quantity Surveying and have over two years of experience, including pre- and post-contract QS work. NEC3 (and NEC4) familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• BSc or equivalent in Quantity Surveying is required.
• Over two years of quantity surveying experience is essential.
• Experience with NEC3 contracts and ideally NEC4 is preferred.
• Rail or other infrastructure project exposure is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of commercial activities within delivery teams.

Job description

THE ROLE

My client seeks an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Commercial Manager to join their London office or to work in a client office on rail projects.

You must have experience of quantity surveying and commercial management duties and have either Rail experience using NEC contracts or have worked on other infrastructure projects.

You will support the delivery of commercial activities within the delivery teams and you will work alongside the supply chain and contractors to provide cost variation assessment and other commercial activities.

THE COMPANY

My client is a long established busy firm of PQS with several offices.

My client works on projects for infrastructure and also for buildings.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Commercial Manager who has good experience of working on RAIL related projects or other infrastructure projects.

You should have a BSc or similar in Quantity Surveying.

You may be working towards taking RICS currently.

You will have in excess of two years quantity surveying experience.

You should have both pre contract and post contract quantity surveying experience.

You must have knowledge in the use of NEC3 contracts and ideally some NEC4.
