Assistant Quantity Surveyor | £33,000 Plus Package | Leeds

My client is a Regional Contractor with a turnover of £40m who operate within a range of different schemes including Rail, Civils, Drainage and Marine works their projects value up to £15m.

You will be working on a £10m Network Rail maintenance framework.

This Contractor has been established for over 30 years’ with an impressive track record and a well-known name in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare estimates using a schedule of rates
• Price variations / technical queries to contracted works
• Liaise with delivery team regarding works executed
• Analyse cost reports
• Assist in producing final accounts
• Negotiate and agree final accounts with Client
• Compile cost-value reconciliations
• Submit periodic valuations
• Assessing sub-contractors claims
• Attend site to take measurements
• Attend progress meetings
• Contribute to monthly commercial meetings
• Submit periodic applications for payment
• Produce commercial reports for the Board of Directors

Desirable Skills:

• Similar experience working within a contracting environment
• Rail experience
• Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised
• HND / HNC is essential
• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a similar Civil Engineering degree.
• MS Office – Essential
