Job summary

Hitachi Rail UK Limited in London is seeking an enthusiastic Overhaul and Modification Technician to join the team at the North Pole Train Maintenance Centre. No railway experience is required for this entry-level opportunity, with training provided.

You will work on the Class 800/802 fleet, carry out overhaul and maintenance, and support testing and commissioning. The role includes a 24/7 shift pattern, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Overhaul, modification, and preventive maintenance on rolling stock.
• Experience with fault diagnosis and repair.
• Ability to travel and work shifts including nights.
• Apprenticeship/engineering NVQ background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out overhaul, modification, maintenance and fault diagnosis on Class 800/802 trains.
• Perform testing and commissioning activities.
• Support fleet delivery and safety inspections.
• Record materials in SAP and maintain documentation.
