Job summary

DB Cargo UK is recruiting a Locomotive Engineer in the Dollands Moor area to join our engineering team. You will support the safe, efficient maintenance and operation of our locomotives, carrying out maintenance, fault diagnosis and reporting.

The role requires NVQ Level 3, hands-on railway experience, and a valid manual driving licence. We offer a competitive salary (£36,099 base plus £4,086 shift allowance), 31 days leave and a generous pension, with on-site parking and EV charging at selected

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a valid manual driving license.
Live within a 1-hour commute.
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) as a minimum.
Hands-on engineering experience.
Rail sector experience would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

Support safe, efficient maintenance and operation of locomotives.
Diagnose and rectify faults in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Work with Maintenance Team Co-ordinator and order materials when needed.
Assist with breakdowns, recovery operations and T&RS incidents.
Prepare accurate reports for ongoing work and contribute to improvements.
