Job summary

AECOM is recruiting a Graduate Rail Mechanical Engineer to join the Railway Mechanical Engineering team on a development programme in the UK. You will work on design, development and delivery of mechanical systems for the rail network, supporting sustainable and safe operations.

You will learn through multidisciplinary project teams, contribute to calculations and designs, and progress toward chartership with IMechE while gaining broad experience across stations, depots and major rail schemes.

Qualifications

• BEng in Mechanical Engineering with a 2:1 classification (or above).
• MEng in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.
• Modules in Rail Engineering, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, HVAC, Building Services, Power Systems or related disciplines would be advantageous.
• Demonstrable interest in Rail and Mechanical Engineering and developing a career within the industry.

Responsibilities

• Enrolment on Graduate Development Programme; develop skills within a collaborative environment.
• Contribute to design, development and delivery of mechanical systems for railway networks.
• Assist in design of mechanical systems for stations, depots, tunnels and rail infrastructure.
• Support HVAC, ventilation, cooling, fire life safety, drainage, pumping and related building services.
