Job summary

Network Rail is seeking a site-based Maintenance Operative in Sheffield to support essential outdoor maintenance across the network. You will work in a small team, following safety procedures and with training provided to operate on the rail infrastructure.

This role requires committed teamwork, strong safety awareness, and the ability to drive vehicles as needed. The position is permanent, full-time, with excellent leave and travel benefits and the chance to contribute to daily national duties.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Hold and retain competencies relevant to this post, required by the business need.
• Ideally hold (or be working towards) an NVQ 1 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
• Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need.
• Able to work as part of team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements or other instructions.
• Undertake work and associated duties for which you are trained and competent.
• Undertake work activities as directed, in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all relevant standards.
