Job summary

Arriva TrainCare is seeking a Fitter/Electrician for its Crewe depot to maintain rail vehicles to established procedures. You will work under the Heavy Maintenance Team Leader, performing preventive and corrective tasks while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and hands-on experience in rail vehicle maintenance, with a strong emphasis on depot operations and engineering drawing interpretation.

Qualifications

• Experience with rail vehicle maintenance activities.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as allocated by the Team Leader within set timescales and to recognised standards.
• Operate rail vehicles as required within depot limits and procedures.
• Ensure safety procedures and documents are adhered to.
• Ensure worksheets are signed off on completion of work.
• Adhere to Quality and Environmental procedures and instructions.
• Attend technical, quality, safety, and general briefings.
• Undertake Safety Critical Work Regulations assessments under guidance.
• Assist as directed by the Team Leader to meet rolling stock availability targets.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness in the depot.
