Job summary

Northern Trains Limited is seeking a senior leader to drive infrastructure programmes across depots, train care centres and stations in the West of our network. You will lead a team of Project Managers, coordinate with external partners, and ensure governance and delivery are maintained to deliver lasting benefits.

This role requires extensive experience in complex infrastructure programmes, strong leadership, and excellent stakeholder communication to align diverse teams and stakeholders across

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex infrastructure or engineering programmes, ideally in rail.
• Strong programme management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to influence, challenge and build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
• Well developed team leadership experience.
• Experience managing project risks, budgets, governance and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of infrastructure programmes across depots, train care centres, outstations and stations in the West.
• Coordinate delivery with external partners (e.g., Network Rail) to achieve best outcomes.
• Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers and resolve challenges to keep programmes on time.
• Manage programme risks, dependencies and governance with clear stakeholder updates.
• Collaborate with Finance, Fleet, Operations, Commercial and Programme Management to deliver successfully.
• Represent Northern with external organisations including Network Rail and the Department for Transport.
