Job summary

Arup's Industrial Placement - Rail in Glasgow offers the chance to contribute to major UK rail infrastructure projects. You will join the North Rail Team, delivering design and engineering from feasibility to detailed design across multidisciplinary teams.

You'll collaborate with rail systems, civils, electrification and project management, gain exposure to client engagements and learn how decarbonisation and modernisation shape rail networks for networks like Network Rail and TRU.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Analytical skills to research engineering problems.
• Knowledge of railway systems and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the design and engineering across rail infrastructure projects from feasibility studies through detailed design.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams coordinating with rail specialists.
• Support the production of technical deliverables including drawings, calculations and reports.
• Contribute to major UK rail programmes gaining experience across passenger, freight and mass transit schemes.
• Develop technical and professional skills through client engagement and innovative decarbonisation solutions.
