Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an Incident Controller support role to help manage incidents, accidents and emergencies affecting the operational railway. You will coordinate fault handling, work with colleagues, TOCs and emergency services to ensure a swift, safe recovery and clear communications during events.

The role requires experience in fault management or rail operations, familiarity with control software and strong teamwork under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Appreciation of signalling, p'way and electrification disciplines.
  • Experience in fault management, maintenance, operations or control.
  • Knowledge of procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Skilled with rail control software and office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Incident Controller during normal and disruptive events to deliver optimal service.
  • Coordinate fault identification, coding, prioritisation and repair of assets.
  • Call out and coordinate response staff across departments and agencies.
  • Coordinate ESRs, urgent possessions, and plan alterations as directed.
  • Monitor possessions, route staff, and track engineering trains and plant.
  • Use monitoring information to prioritise response and ensure quick alerts.
  • Carry out fault management and standard checking procedures.
  • Disseminate timely, accurate information to staff and stakeholders.
  • Input to daily logs and produce reports to defined timescales.
