Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is offering a two-year Graduate Development Programme in rail, starting September 2027. You’ll work with experienced engineers and specialists to deliver projects across signalling, telecoms, power systems and station environments.

You’ll gain hands-on project experience, structured learning, mentoring and exposure to multidisciplinary rail initiatives, with a strong focus on development and chartership.

Qualifications

• 2:2 or higher in a relevant master’s degree such as Mechanical, Electrical, Systems or Building Services Engineering.
• Start date in September 2027.
• Interest in rail infrastructure, transport systems and multidisciplinary projects.
• Curious, collaborative and motivated to solve challenges that shape rail’s future.
• Comfortable working with specialists across engineering disciplines.
• Willing to take ownership of work and development while creating value for clients.
• Eager to broaden technical expertise across the rail sector.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects that keep rail networks safe, reliable and efficient.
• Support development of technical designs and coordinated BIM models.
• Analyse operational or technical data and contribute to reports and designs.
• Attend site visits and engage with clients and stakeholders.
• Assist with signalling, telecoms, electrification, power projects and systems integration.

Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems or Building Services Engineering
