WSP in the UK is inviting graduates to join our Rail teams for 2027, entering a two-year Graduate Development Programme designed to build skills and a professional network.

Locations span Manchester, Derby, Birmingham, Bristol, Belfast, London and more, with roles in Rail Advisory Services, Rail Engineering Services, Rail Systems Engineering and Rail Stations to help shape safe, reliable rail travel.

Qualifications

• You will have, or be on track to achieve, at least a 2:2 in a relevant master’s degree such as Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services engineering, so a closely related discipline.
• You will be looking to start work in September 2027.
• You will have an interest in rail infrastructure, transport systems, building services engineering, railway operations or the delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects.
• You will be curious, collaborative and motivated to solve challenges that help shape the future of rail.
• You will be comfortable working with a range of specialists across engineering disciplines, sharing ideas and learning from experienced professionals.
• You will want to take ownership of your work and development while creating value for our clients.
• You will actively seek opportunities to develop your technical expertise and broaden your experience across the rail sector.

Responsibilities

• Support development of technical designs and coordinated BIM models.
• Analyse operational or technical data to inform design decisions.
• Attend site visits and engage with clients and stakeholders.
• Help deliver the railways of the future across major infrastructure programmes, stations and rail systems.
