Job summary

Octavius Infrastructure is seeking a Development Manager (Design Manager) to lead the development of rail renewal projects across the UK. You will work collaboratively to shape projects from early stages and ensure effective delivery in a safe and sustainable manner.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in project delivery and a strong understanding of Network Rail standards, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively. This role also offers a competitive rewards package and hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering projects across the full project lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of Network Rail processes and standards.
• Broad engineering understanding in civils, M&E, geotechnical or core rail systems.

Responsibilities

• Leading pre-construction and design activities for rail renewal projects.
• Coordinating surveys and site investigations to inform cost certainty.
• Managing assurance, governance and compliance requirements.

Skills

Managing multidisciplinary design and development processes

Working within Network Rail standards

Engaging effectively with clients

Balancing technical, commercial and programme considerations

Driving a strong safety culture

Education

Degree, diploma or vocational qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering or related discipline

SMSTS or equivalent CDM 2015 training
