Job summary

Hitachi Rail in Swindon is seeking a Senior Maintainer Control Room Manager to oversee the control room operations, ensuring trains are maintained, serviced and cleaned to the highest standards. This role covers days, nights and weekend shifts and requires strong leadership and operational knowledge to keep passengers moving.

You will manage fleet planning, coordinate maintenance partners and use SAP MM systems to drive reliability and on-time performance.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of railway operations and regulatory compliance.
• Technical understanding of traction and rolling stock.
• Strong leadership and management experience.
• Vocational engineering qualifications and experience.
• Management training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the smooth running of the control room and fleet maintenance.
• Manage control room operations and support teams.
• Plan fleet maintenance, servicing and cleaning per contract.
• Coordinate with maintenance depots and inspections.
• Lead and develop Maintenance Controllers and Inspectors.
• Liaise with Hitachi and external personnel to fulfill duties.
• Deputise for the Fleet Delivery Manager when required.
