Job summary

Crouch Waterfall, part of the Vulcain Engineering Group, is expanding its Cardiff Rail/Bridges team and seeks a Civil & Structural Engineer with 2+ years of relevant experience. Join a multi-disciplinary group delivering rail, bridges and infrastructure projects with strong technical support and clear development pathways.

The role offers hybrid working, Chartered Engineer progression, and opportunities to broaden skills beyond pure design within an expanding civil and structural team.

Qualifications

• BEng or higher in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
• Graduate ICE/IStructE member or working towards.
• 2+ years in a relevant role in civil/structural engineering.
• Exposure to UK rail projects desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work within a multi-disciplinary design team on rail/road bridges, footbridges, stations and wider infrastructure.
• Assist with design of new bridges and assessment, repair, and strengthening of existing structures.
• Support project delivery from feasibility through construction support, meeting programme and budget requirements.
• Attend site surveys and client meetings to develop client-facing experience.
• Build project management skills including exposure to bidding, tendering and delivery processes.
• Gain insight into commercial and financial aspects of project delivery.
• Support technical activities such as inspections, surveys, feasibility studies and programme preparation.
• Review designs and calculations produced by others under supervision.
