Job summary

Crouch Waterfall is seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer to join its Cardiff Rail/Bridges team. The role offers strong technical support, real project exposure, and clear opportunities for development toward Chartered status.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of relevant experience, a civil/structural engineering degree, and a solid grounding in structural design principles. UK work eligibility and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• BEng or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Graduate member of ICE or IStructE, or working towards membership.
• Strong grounding in structural design principles.
• Early-career engineer with 2+ years practical experience.
• Exposure to bridge engineering or structural design is advantageous.
• Desirable: exposure to UK rail projects.
• Fluent English and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Work in a multi-disciplinary design team on rail/bridges, stations, and related infrastructure.
• Support design of new bridges and assess/strengthen existing structures.
• Assist with feasibility to construction delivery, meeting programme and budgets.
• Attend site surveys and client meetings to develop client-facing skills.
• Develop project management skills, including bidding and delivery processes.
• Gain insight into commercial and financial aspects of project delivery.
• Assist with structural inspections, surveys, and feasibility studies.
• Review designs and calculations produced by others under supervision.
