Job summary

South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Radiology Support Worker to assist radiographers, sonographers and radiologists across a range of imaging services. The role focuses on patient care, moving and handling, and contributing to a 24/7 service in a busy department.

The post includes completing the Care Certificate within 12 weeks and progressing to Band 3 on successful training and consolidation. A full-time, permanent contract is offered.

Qualifications

• Maths and English Language at Level 1 or above (GCSE A-E or equivalent) or equivalent health care experience.
• Willingness to complete Competency Based Assessments and a Portfolio of evidence, in order to achieve the Care Certificate and any other training related role.
• Health Care Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiographers, sonographers and radiologists in diagnostic imaging examinations (mobile, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI).
• Ensure high standards of patient care and a caring environment for patients and carers.
• Carry out clerical and administrative duties as required.
• Participate in flexible working arrangements including out-of-hours as needed.
