Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive Radiology Support Assistant to assist Radiologists, Radiographers and Nursing staff across ultrasound and CT lists and invasive procedures.

You will help with patient admissions, prep and discharge, maintain infection control standards, manage equipment, assist with documentation, and be a reassuring point of contact for patients and relatives throughout their radiology journey.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting radiology teams is desirable.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and patient privacy.
• Good communication and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Nursing staff, Radiographers & Radiologists with invasive procedures.
• Assisting Radiologists with drainages, fine needle aspirations & biopsies.
• Daily checks to be completed in each modality.
• Support other Radiology Assistants.
• Assist with ordering, receiving equipment and placing in store cupboard.
• Support the Nurse's in the Day Care Unit with admissions, caring for the patient post procedure and discharges, welcoming patients in waiting area, confirming identity.
• Maintain patient dignity and privacy; answer telephone inquiries promptly and courteously.
• Set up equipment for Ultrasound and CT; scrub to lay a sterile trolley for Radiologist.
• Assist Radiologists during examinations and procedures; locate blood results and communicate to Radiologist.
• Organise and run Ultrasound and CT lists for inpatients and outpatients.
