Job Opportunity at North Tyneside General Hospital

An exciting opportunity has arisen at North Tyneside General Hospital for experienced radiographers or specialist radiographers / fluoroscopy trained radiographers.

We are hiring two staff members to cover maternity roles, with flexibility for B5 radiographers or B6 specialist radiographers depending on experience. The roles may include coverage for plain film x-ray, fluoroscopy, and/or CT.

These full-time positions involve extended hours from Monday to Sunday, offering numerous development opportunities. Northumbria Healthcare is committed to providing first-class patient care.

Responsibilities include participating in the roster pattern, weekend work, out-of-hours, and on-call duties. The successful candidates will work across CT and general x-ray departments, alongside students and assistant practitioners, with a mentorship program available for student development.

The role involves participating in the department rota primarily at North Tyneside General Hospital, with some coverage at Wansbeck General Hospital, Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, and other hospitals and clinics in the region, including out-of-hours and weekends.

Our trust manages three major hospitals and numerous community facilities, providing a wide range of services aimed at giving patients greater choice and control over their care. The role involves ensuring high-quality radiographic services in accordance with trust and department policies, performing radiographic techniques to high standards, and undertaking specialist practice as delegated. Flexibility to work in any radiology department, including community hospitals, is required. Participation in shifts/rotas to support a 24/7 service is expected.
