Job summary
We are looking to recruit Band 5 radiographers to join us in our Radiography Department based in Brighton at The Royal Sussex County Hospital with rotation to our other departments at Hove Polyclinic, Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital at Haywards Heath.
We welcome applications from student diagnostic radiographers due to qualify summer 2025, who have gained recent practical radiography experience in an NHS setting in general radiography areas and who have an interest in working at University Hospitals Sussex.
These band 5 posts are based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton (RSCH) and offer a rotation and experience of working in our paediatric department in the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital on the RSCH site and our satellite department for GP work at Hove Polyclinic. There will also be rotation to our department in Princess Royal at Haywards Heath which will include the Sussex Orthopaedic Treatment Centre.
This is an exciting time to join us as we opened our department with state of the art equipment in the newly built Louisa Martindale Building on the RSCH site in May 2023.
Main duties of the jobAs a Band 5 radiographer with us you will have the opportunity to develop your A&E experience in our busy 3 room A&E X-ray Department providing a 24 hour service for major trauma and emergency work at RSCH. This will include participating in our 24 hour cover including weekend and night duties on this site.
You will also gain experience in mobile and theatre work, general radiography, fluoroscopy and paediatric radiography rotating through our general departments at RSCH, PRH and Hove Polyclinic and also our paediatric department at RACH.
Applicants will be expected to gain HCPC registration on qualifying and before taking up post and will have recent clinical experience in an NHS environment.
