Ideal candidates will have a BSc in therapeutic radiography and HPC registration. Enjoy a supportive environment with opportunities for professional growth.
Job summary
This role offers an opportunity to be part of the dynamic radiotherapy team at UCLH. The post holder will undertake rotations between the photon and proton departments and will work across areas such as pre-treatment, treatment preparation, treatment units, and brachytherapy. UCLH seeks a committed individual with the energy and focus to build on existing service excellence.
Radiotherapy services at UCLH are delivered across two departments: the photon department, equipped with Varian TrueBeam systems, advanced imaging, and 6DoF couches, as well as a comprehensive brachytherapy suite and a Gulmay skin unit; and the proton beam therapy (PBT) department, one of only two NHS sites offering PBT, equipped with Varian ProBeam gantries, robotic couches, and dedicated MRI and CT scanners.
The department provides radiotherapy for a broad spectrum of cancers, including common and specialist treatments such as brachytherapy, molecular radiotherapy, and total body irradiation. The PBT department focuses on head and neck, brain, and sarcoma treatments, with paediatric and TYA patients comprising about one-third of the cohort.
Main duties include contributing to radiotherapy services for both common and specialist treatments, delivering treatments on state-of-the-art equipment, and participating in all aspects of patient care, planning, and treatment on a rotational basis. The post holder will liaise with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams including radiographers, oncology staff, physicists, engineers, and external partners.
