Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Radiation Protection Adviser to join our Radiation Protection & Characterisation team in the UK. You will provide independent radiation protection advice, undertake audits, and support clients in meeting statutory obligations across diverse regulated sectors.

You will operate with technical judgment and commercial awareness, mentoring junior staff and contributing to the growth of our RP&C capability while travelling to client sites as required.

Qualifications

• RPA2000 Certificate of Competence required.
• Extensive practical experience in radiation protection.
• Strong knowledge of IRR17 and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiation protection advice to clients per IRR17 and applicable legislation.
• Undertake client audits, inspections and site visits.
• Prepare and review radiation risk assessments and Local Rules.
• Provide practical advice on area designations, engineering controls and safe systems of work.
• Mentor and supervise junior Radiation Protection Advisers and other staff.
