Job summary

Leonardo UK in Edinburgh is seeking a Principal RF Engineer to join our Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) Multifunction RF System team. You will lead RF, PCB and Module design activities, driving the hardware lifecycle from concept to production in a cutting-edge defence environment.

This is a hybrid role with on-site work preferred and requires UK SC-level clearance. You will mentor junior engineers, define test strategies, and collaborate across Systems, Test and Electronics teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of RF circuit design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of microwave techniques and EM theory.
• Ability to lead in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Full hardware lifecycle from concept to production.
• Create robust RF PCB/Module designs and test prototypes.
• Prepare validation plans and support production testing.
• Mentor junior engineers and support GCAP delivery.
