Job summary

Landmarc Support Services is seeking a proactive Training Area Operative to join the Radar Operations Team, helping to ensure the safe operation of live firing ranges and training facilities at the Defence Training Estate.

You will monitor radar and camera systems, carry out routine inspections, operate data-recording systems and support day-to-day range operations. A full UK driving licence is essential for rural sites.

Qualifications

• Understanding of operational, technical or safety-critical environments.
• Confident using technology, including computer systems, tablets and electronic monitoring equipment.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable, adaptable and willing to undertake further training and development.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions when required.
• Full UK manual driving licence is essential due to rural location.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe delivery of live firing and military training activities across the training estate.
• Monitor range activity using radar, camera and other surveillance systems.
• Operate computer systems to capture data.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance of training area assets.
• Operate vehicles, plant and equipment in line with training and authorisation.
• Support day-to-day range operations and respond to operational requirements as directed.
• Maintain accurate records and reports using digital and paper-based systems.
• Work in accordance with Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Support military users and colleagues to ensure training activities are delivered safely and effectively.
