Job summary

Landmarc Support Services is seeking a proactive Training Area Operative to join our Radar Operations Team on the Defence Training Estate. The role blends practical outdoor work with technology-based monitoring to support live firing ranges and training facilities.

You will monitor radar and camera systems, maintain range assets and contribute to day-to-day operations at Lulworth Ranges, Wareham, Dorset. The position offers a permanent, full-time contract with a 39-hour week, typical day and

Qualifications

• Experience in operational, technical, or safety-critical environments.
• Comfort with using technology such as tablets and electronic monitoring equipment.
• Strong health and safety awareness and safe working practices.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Willing to undertake further training and development.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe delivery of live firing and military training activities across the training estate.
• Monitor range activity using radar, camera and other surveillance systems.
• Operate computer systems to capture data.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance of training area assets.
• Operate vehicles, plant and equipment in line with training and authorisation.
• Support day-to-day range operations and respond to operational requirements as directed.
• Maintain accurate records and reports using digital and paper-based systems.
• Work in accordance with Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Support military users and colleagues to ensure training activities are delivered safely and effectively.
