Job summary

Uttoxeter Racecourse is seeking a Groundsperson to maintain a high-quality racing surface year-round and to care for the surrounding grounds and facilities. The role involves outdoor responsibilities, teamwork, and occasional unsocial hours during race days and events.

You will work under the Clerk of the Course, using tractors and machinery to prepare for racing, while ensuring presentation standards across lawns, parade rings and external areas.

Qualifications

• Must have strong time management and attendance.
• Need flexible approach and ability to work under pressure.
• Be well organised with good communication skills.
• Enjoy outdoor work and hold a full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a quality racing surface year-round.
• Maintain outer areas to high presentation standards.
• Assist in maintenance of estates buildings and equipment for race days and events.
• Maintain lawns, gardens, parade rings for raceday presentation.
• Care for external areas: car parks, tracks, tarmac, horsebox park.
• Operate gardening and farming equipment with safe practices.
• Follow Health and Safety policies and regulations.
